The Gold Coast Academy of Sport would like to congratulate past board member Paul Stevens on being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (service to the community of the Gold Coast) at the Australia Day Awards.
Paul was involved with the Academy from 2017 to 2021 and during this time his vast experience, leadership, knowledge and influence helped to develop strong principles and processes to enable the Academy to grow. Paul’s involvement and interest in sport spans many years.
Paul was also part of other local sporting organisations where he supported the community through various board roles, including:
- Honorary Secretary/Treasurer, Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame Inc., 2001-2021
- Chairman, Australian Special Olympics National Games, 2006
- Director and Secretary, Gold Coast Academy of Sport, 2017-2021
The board of the Gold Coast Academy of Sport would like to recognise Paul’s outstanding service to the sporting community. This honour is thoroughly deserved.
